The Spearwoman of Skatay

Located on the far eastern end of Skatay bordering Nagxia, is that of the reclusive village of Yngvild. Populated by Veena Viera, the clan of women and their inevitably separated men, are known for their striking emerald green irises that are recurring within their population. One such Veena is that of Sylfir, a young woman of long flowing ebon tresses who spent her many suns back home within the taiga region as a well-versed huntress for her people. Long tufted ears to catch even the smallest of prey and their scampering – with a twitching leporine nose for sniffing them out – she is notably palid with a dash of natural rouge against plush cheeks, a common trait amongst those of Skatay.

The Viera’s visage is a warm one, despite the contrasting sharpness of her features. Within that curious gaze lies a longing wistfulness, perhaps one that lends to the very reason she left behind her beloved home amongst her sisters. Dedicated to her ways, she is focused; whatever it is that brought her this far, she is sure to see it through.

Equipped with an heirloom masterfully crafted by the mother she has since left behind, Sylfir is rarely without her prized spear. Engraved upon its wooden shaft is that of Skatayan words of encouragement – a sentiment from her mother to always impart comfort onto her kit, even through whatever distance they are apart. The weapon has gone through its fair share of use, even with near constant upkeep – the wear of life is evident upon the etches that are impossible to buff away.

The young Veena woman typically dons traditionally loose clothing with ornaments and protective coverings here and there. In her ensembles, she values freedom and flexibility over that of full body armour. Despite this, her wardrobe has begun to broaden as per her new friendships in Eorzea and their assistance with helping her assimilate to the west.
